Windows ICO Container Architecture
The Windows Icon (.ico) file format is a container capable of holding multiple icon frames at different pixel resolutions within a single file. When Windows or a browser displays an .ico file, it automatically selects the sharpest frame for the current display scaling factor.
NexoPixel generates standard PNG-compressed ICO files containing 16×16, 32×32, 48×48, and 256×256 frames, ensuring sharp rendering on standard displays and High-DPI screens.
